The Organic Beauty Awards, run by the LOAEL Beauty Group, named ELIXIR the 2026 Sensitive Skin Science Innovator in the Organic Beauty category.

What the recognition is actually pointing at
The phrase in that citation worth sitting with is “beautifully concentrated.”
Most serums rely on a base of carriers and texture agents, with a smaller group of ingredients doing the real work.
ELIXIR was built differently: 32 botanicals, each chosen for a function. Bakuchiol, CoQ10, sea buckthorn, black currant seed oil, and a stack of cold-pressed nutrient oils that both carry actives and contribute their own benefits.
That kind of architecture is harder to formulate and more expensive to produce.
But it is also the point. In a 30ml botanical serum, concentration isn’t a flourish.

Why “innovator” and not “best serum”
The category name matters.
This wasn’t simply a best-in-class placement. It recognized a specific contribution: a science-led approach to formulating for skin that has become increasingly selective about what it tolerates.
That’s the problem Ollie Wertheim set out to solve after training at Formula Botanica and developing formulas for her own increasingly reactive complexion. Too often, sensitive-skin products are built around subtraction: fewer actives, less intensity, lower ambition.
